An interdenominational group that works with Christian Churches of all denominations to see children won for Christ and nurtured in continuing weekly clubs. These clubs are run in the local churches by the church people themselves.

Craft Kits for Four Children

The craft kits are packed in sealed plastic bags with contents of particle board, wooden clothes pegs, pop sticks, offcuts of cotton fabric and printed material and instructions.

In each pack there is enough for four children and is usually priced upwards of $4.80 per pack, so the usual price for craft is $1.20 per child.

Because these craft packages are packed by volunteer Christians and are therefore priced very cheaply, they should thereby be used in church run Kids Clubs or evangelical children's missions, and we do not like to sell to schools, individual parents, or secular children's groups.

Helpful Hints About Gluing

  1. Apply glue as a thin smear and it will dry quickly.  In winter or on wet days place model in front of a fan heater to dry.

Helpful Hints About Craft

  1. 1/2 to 3/4 hour usually adequate.

  2. Have something practical for them to complete.  Little ones will need a lot of help, but don't be afraid to help the children.  We are not teaching children skills, we are building up relationships.

  3. Plan ahead so that you have four articles being made every month.  Everyone gets a turn, and you move on to four different articles next month.  A few favourites can be repeated.

  4. See that if implements and tools are in short supply, all children can have a fair turn at using them.  That is why most of our articles are designed to use pegs or precut wood or curtain material etc. so that all that is required is glue and scissors.

  5. Make some provision for the paying for craft materials used.  For a 3 hour club $4.00 a child will cover the meal and craft. Usually parents donate generously if you keep your quality high.

  6. Have your materials ready before the club meets so that the work may commence smoothly without leaders frantically preparing while children stand around impatiently. T hat is why craft packs are prepacked by Children for Christ.

  7. The leaders must have tried the particular craft beforehand so that they are familiar with it and know how difficult it is.  They will also know the steps to take and the order in which things are done.  Children respect a leader if he or she knows what they're doing.

  8. Don't let members skip through or skimp their work.  Work at it so every child in your group will have something beautiful to take home.  To you it might not be much, but to a child's imagination it is wonderful.  Be generous with your praise.

  9. Don't forget to show off the craftwork: (a) at the end of the craft night; (b) show the parents when they collect the children - this builds up a relationship with the parents, too; (c) have an occasional "exhibition" so that parents and members of the congregation can see what the children have done.

  10. Don't forget to have some children help you tidy up after the craft work.  They are used to doing this at school.
