An interdenominational group that works with Christian Churches of all denominations to see children won for Christ and nurtured in continuing weekly clubs. These clubs are run in the local churches by the church people themselves. |
It is the most exciting evangelical outreach to outside children, that the church has seen since the decline of the Sunday School Movement.
Children have dropped out of Sunday Schools at an alarming rate over the last 50 years.
History of the Sunday School Movement

Yet in the early 1900's, and particularly in the 1800's, it was the evangelical, Bible believing Sunday Schools that had a profound effect on reaching outside children.
In 1898, three Sunday Schools in the Redfern area had 4000 children attending weekly:
Robert Raikes started the first Sunday School in London in 1780. 20 years after he died there were 1.2 million children attending Sunday Schools in England. At that time England had a population of 4.5 million, so one quarter of England were attending Sunday Schools.
In America, "Stuttering Steven Paxton" in 1825 travelled 100,000 miles on horseback over 25 years. This man alone started 1,314 Sunday Schools in which 83,000 children were reached for Christ.
In the first ten years Children for Christ started 350 Kids Clubs in NSW alone, as well as hundreds of others in other states in Australia. Note: It is essential to get Children for Christ to train your Church. They will spend a week in your local church to get a successful Kids Club going. Keep getting them back to retrain and re-enthuse existing leaders, to do 3 Day After School Missions or 5 Day Holiday Clubs, or to readvertise in the schools.
Keep faithful to this well tested program that has proved so successful in attracting outside children.
Change some things around, use home made craft, bits and pieces from other systems, cut and change this well tested program, your children will get out of order and your Kids Club will invariably fail. Over and over again, outside children in primary schools have insisted, that the Children for Christ program is the one they really like.
